Librarians and Reading Ambassadors
Meet Cloverlea's Librarians
With thanks to our fabulous PTA we managed to renovate and update our school library last year to allow children across the school to borrow books each week from a more extensive collection, something that we will continue to add to with the help of our wonderful parents and teachers.
The children above have been selected this year to help as school librarians, which means they will help children across the school with the process of borrowing and returning books, ensuring the library is kept tidy and books replaced and suggesting ideas for titles we can add to our collection.
Reading Ambassadors
In our quest to further develop reading for pleasure and to create a school that embraces reading, we asked Year 6 children to apply to become ambassadors for the school. The four selected are Amelia, Sadie, Florence and Evie. At a recent assembly the PTA presented the Reading Ambassadors with a cheque to continue to support the library and reading throughout the school.
World Book Day
Sharing our love of books
The children have been sharing their love of books with our children in the EYFS and KS1. The children have recorded themselves reading to the younger children and have written recommendations of books that they will share with their friends and teachers.
Reading for Pleasure
At Cloverlea Primary School we want children to read for pleasure. Please see the link below with ideas of how you can support your child with this at home.
